Awards and acknowledgments at the II. MATE Sports Gala

MATE Sports Gala was organized for the 2nd time where the university athletes and GEAC athletes were awarded. Another success was signing a four-side agreement between GEAC, our university MATE, Török Ignác High School and the Dunakeszi School District Centre. In this agreement these institutions are closing their relationship in sports, science and university studies.

The Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences has a big goal since it's establishment, developing sport opportunities and showing a model for competitive sports and university studies together. As Dr. Csaba Gyuricza, rector of MATE and president of MATE-GEAC summrized our university organized 11 MEFOB Championships and many other competitions on national level to become a well known and strong institution in Hungarian sports life and also the athletic team has already won more than a hundred national championship medals, reached 34 podium places at international level and we have more than 20 national team members.

Sports and studies developing next to each other is a very important goal for MATE and the athletic team as well. We belive that the university studies are essential for an athlete to be able to compete at the highest levels and to find future opportunities after the comptetitive sports carreer. To show a model, our universtiy is signing agreements to build an infrastucture and system for young students and lead them through their studies while offering great sports opportunities. At the gala a four-side agreement was signed between MATE-GEAC as the acthletic club, MATE as the University, one of the best Hungarian high schools the Török Ignácz High School and as the maintainer the Dunakeszi School District Centre. This is a milestone for these institutions because this way students have a support in this dual life course model from their young ages untill their university degrees. Through this way there is a huge opportunity for young athletes to develop, reach their goals in their studies and sports carreer, represent MATE and MATE-GEAC at every possible level.
