Elite athlete scholarship

Purpose of the Support

A scholarship is available to support the establishment of a dual career model for athletes, aimed at realizing the values formulated below and enhancing the reputation of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (hereinafter referred to as MATE).

Among MATE students, those considered elite athletes are members of teams competing in the highest division of national championships for team sports (e.g., NB I, OB I), athletes who have placed 1st to 3rd in adult or age group national championships in individual Olympic and Paralympic sports, national team athletes, and athletes placing 1st to 6th in World Championships or European Championships in non-Olympic sports. The goal is to coordinate and assist these athletes in balancing their sports careers, studies, and preparation for civilian life.

Eligible Applicants

The call for applications is directed to students enrolled at the University (including those in foreign training programs) who hold student status, as well as state scholarship doctoral candidates studying in the University’s doctoral schools, who engage in elite athletic activities alongside fulfilling academic requirements, significantly contributing to the success and development of sports life and enhancing the University’s good reputation.

The scholarship is a monetary allowance granted for one academic semester (5 months).
